[Tokyo Marathon 2025 Charity] Report
2025.03.27
This is the Sports Legacy Program of the Tokyo Marathon Foundation!
How are you doing now that the hay fever season is upon us, a bit of a tough time for runners?
Today, we will report on our activities at Tokyo Marathon 2025!
◆Tokyo Marathon EXPO 2025
At the Sports Legacy Program booth, together with Mr. M Takashi, the charity ambassador for the Tokyo Marathon Foundation Sports Legacy Program, we introduced the project and presented commemorative gifts to express our gratitude for the donations!
Those who answered the survey, which was conducted in collaboration with the Society for Running, were also entered into a lottery to win special stickers and other great prizes.
(What a surprise! First prize was a T-shirt signed by Diamond Athlete, one of the recipients of the Sports Legacy Program!)
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and filled out the survey!
◆Tokyo Marathon 2025 Charity Runner Lounge (Tokyo International Forum, Hall B7)
On the race day, the Charity Runner Lounge was set up at the finish area, Tokyo International Forum!
For the first time, a “meeting point” was set up in the Charity Runner Lounge to meet up with family and friends.
After the runners finished the marathon, they were welcomed with applause by all the charity organizations, as well as their families and friends!
Race day was warmer than expected, making it quite a challenge for the runners. However, their smiling faces, filled with a sense of accomplishment, were truly impressive.
◆Tokyo Marathon 2025 Individual Charity Lounge (Tokyo International Forum, Glass Building)
The Sports Legacy Program also opened an individual charity lounge. We provided a space to relax with your family and hot Japanese tea!
We also prepared some famous sweets from Ishikawa Prefecture to raise awareness of the activities of the Relief and Support Projects for the Disaster-Affected Areas of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, which is supported by Sports Legacy Program 3.
We hope that learning about and eating Ishikawa Prefecture’s famous sweets, will help support those affected by the disaster.
While they waited for their families, we gave the foreign visitors an origami lesson and enjoyed a relaxing time together!
We were able to interact with fellow runners who had completed the marathon, as well as with many of the staff members of the Sports Legacy Program, including Mr. M. Takashi.
Several runners also cooperated in interviews, so we will introduce them in a separate blog!
The Tokyo Marathon Foundation Sports Legacy Program will participate in the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2025 Charity and Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity.
Details regarding the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity Recruitment will be released on Thursday, March 27th.
